Viking Footwear has updated its Active Outdoor collection for AW16 with improved performance in challenging conditions and 360-degree visibility in the dark.
Fall and winter in Norway provide plenty of opportunities for being active outdoors, however, the days are short and the weather can be harsh. Viking’s AW 16 Active Outdoor collection has been updated to keep you outside and highly visible when the sun goes down.
The collection features a number of updated styles with highly reflective detailing that illuminates at night for 360 degrees of visibility and an increased level of safety. The unique matte black reflectors blend in nicely with each style, but shine brightly when in contact with light.
In addition, a number of styles have received a facelift as well as new functional features like studded soles for better grip on ice and snow.
All models in the Active Outdoor collection come with a 100 percent waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX® membrane that ensure feet stay dry and regulated throughout the day. Many also feature soft and highly insulating linings for extra warmth and comfort in cold temperatures.
Since ground conditions change often, outsoles are made with natural rubber and individual lug patterns that give excellent grip on any surface. Furthermore, a range of lasts and closure systems means that all feet will find a model that fits just right.

Ascent II Spikes
Ascent II Spikes is a next generation, waterproof hiker that is focused on winter safety. The boot features 17 pre molded tungsten spikes and a Hypergrip® outsole for a secure grip on ice and snow. It has a Neoprene cuff and tongue, an Insulated liner and a Nordic last with heel grip. The 360-degree reflective detailing ensures you stay highly visible in the dark.
Ascent II
Ascent II is a fully capable, lightweight hiker with all the features of Ascent II Spikes, except for the studded sole. Despite its low weight, Ascent delivers excellent foot support and a confident grip on all terrain. The synthetic construction with a Neoprene cuff and tongue keeps weight to a minimum and stands up to abrasions. 360-degree reflective detailing ensures nighttime visibility.
Constrictor II BOA
The Constrictor II BOA is a high performance, sporty winter boot that delivers maximum warmth and waterproof protection after skiing or around town. It comes with a high loft wool blend lining that delivers excellent insulation. The ingenious BOA® lacing system replaces laces with strong wires that are tightened with a wheel – and Viking’s 360-degree reflective detailing shines bright in the dark.
Anaconda BOA IV
The popular Anaconda IV is built for comfort and confidence on walks, hikes and approaches. It features a sturdy, waterproof construction with an EVA midsole for cushioning and the BOA® closure system for a perfect fit. The rugged outsole ensures high traction on slippery surfaces and Viking’s 360-degree reflective detailing allows you to be seen on nighttime adventures.
Anaconda BOA IV Jr.
Made with the same features as the adult version, Anaconda IV Jr. was developed to give outdoorsy kids the highest level of performance possible. Smaller feet stay supported, dry and comfortable in this popular style, not to mention highly visible at night with 360-degree reflective visibility.
