MOTIVATION FROM THE JURY

“I would buy these boots for my kids”, says one jury member about the Play II GTX from Viking. The waterproof and breathable kids’ winter boot can easily be put on and is comfortable to wear. It also offers a synthetic upper fabric using a reflective yarn that will increase safety on dark winter days.

PRIMARY INNOVATION FEATURES

The Play II GTX is the first winter boot, where the upper material is fully reflective. The area of reflectivity causes a dramatic increase in visibility of the shoes at night, thereby increasing the safety of the child. The reflective material comes in color, so the safety is built in, even though it does not appear that way when looking at the boot in daylight.

INTENDED SPECIFIC END USE

Children with shoe sizes 20 through 30. Made for outdoor use in cold temperatures. Designed for active play outside in snow, ice and winter conditions. Worn during the winter months, the darkest time of the year.

3M reflective synthetic upper materials, Gore-Tex insulated boot lining, insulated sock liner, durable rubber cup sole.
