Viking Footwear is introducing the Viking Ascent II Spikes, a lightweight winter hiking boot equipped with warm insulation and a studded sole for maximum grip on snow and ice.
Icy trails and city streets are no match for Viking’s new Ascent II Spikes boot. New for AW 16, the boot delivers a warm, insulated construction and a unique sole with 17 pre molded tungsten spikes that are rust free.When walking on ice and snow, the permanent and durable spikes grip easily for a secure and safer step. When on dry surfaces, the spikes compress into a Hypergrip® outsole for maximum ground contact and traction.
The boot has a modern, sporty design with a mid cut that provides good ankle support for travelling through rough terrain. To increase durability and protection there is a rubberized toecap and a synthetic construction with a Neoprene cuff and tongue that keeps weight to a minimum.
As the sun starts to set and the snow piles up, 360-degree, matte black reflective details keeps you highly visible in the dark.
Ascent II Spikes features a 100 percent waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX® membrane. This means that the boot can easily handle wet trails and slushy streets. The EVA midsole provides shock absorption, adds cushioning, and helps keep weight to a minimum. Side ventilation in the midsole helps to optimize breathability for feet that stay dry and warm. For the best possible fit the boot comes with Viking’s Nordic Last that offers high comfort with great heel grip and space for the toes to breathe. Ascent II Spikes is an all-round winter boot that keeps feet securely on the ground, highly visible at night and comfortable in cold conditions.
