Icebug FW20: The most sustainable outdoor footwear line ever?

For FW20, Icebug continues to launch shoes with a timeless Scandinavian design, made to be used for a long time. In addition to this, Icebug also presents a new group of shoes with sustainable insulation.

The new Icebug family of shoes comes with Primaloft® Bio, a recycled and biodegradable insulation material. We’ve also used recycled materials such as plastic and fishnet. Every detail of every shoe has been carefully studied and then improved in the best possible way.

The cooperation with Swedish company Woolpower® also continues and reach new levels for FW20. This is a perfect way to use leftovers from Woolpower’s production to build shoes, and for this collection, more models than ever have been made with Woolpower material.

The result is high-performance winter shoes that are on the frontline of sustainability. They provide the best possible tool for people that love being outdoors all winter.

In this new family, we find Adak, Boda, Dala, Grove, Sund and Vik.

Adak BUGrip® Woolpower/ Adak Michelin® Woolpower

Timeless, Scandinavian design packed with premium quality and sustainability materials. 

 – This is a new model made to last a long time. It’s a boot for people who love to be out in the woods without cold feet, says Karin Möller at Icebug.

Adak is a highly insulated and sturdy winter boot for winter walking and hiking. It’s warm, timeless, super comfortable with its wide fit last and roomy toebox, and with a design tributing the Scandinavian outdoor lifestyle.

Adak has a high shaft in felted wool and Oily Nubuck leather. The BUGdri membrane keeps the feet dry, and the Primaloft® Bio insulation keeps them warm. The Terry fleece lining adds further warmth, and in combination with the wide last, the comfort level is very high. Full lacing enables fine-tuning the fit as preferences may vary depending on the activity. The shaft and the supportive midsole results in a stable boot suitable for long walks in all kinds of winter weather, add to that a studded BUGrip outsole or a Michelin® outsole and it’s no wonder why Adak is the number one winter boot choice.

Boda BUGrip®/Boda Michelin Wic®

An everyday lifestyle boot inspired by Icebug’s most sold model of all times, the Metro BUGrip. Boda’s inner heel and toe reinforcements are made from 60% recycled fishnets nylon and are a super comfy and warm winter boot.

Boda is a shoe for every occasion and every day during wintertime. Water repellent Suede leather upper with a mudguard that keeps slush out. No zipper or lacing needed, the pull on finger loops at the back and front do the job. The Primaloft® Bio insulation and fleece lining keep the feet warm, and together with the roomy last and toe box, a healthy foot climate is created. The midsole stability and roll have excellent walking properties. Outsole with BUGrip technology, whose 17 dynamic carbide tip steel studs provide traction on both ice and wet asphalt. And if you choose the Michelin outsole, you have the best unstudded traction available.
