MOTIATION FROM THE JURY
The original Fjällräven Greenland Jacket was introduced fifty years ago and changed the market for outdoor garments. It was built out of a polyester cotton blend named G-1000 that was not only quick drying and long lasting but could be made highly water repellent using Greenland wax – a big step forward compared to the cotton fabrics normally found back then. For the new Greenland Half Century Jacket Fjällräven uses G-1000 Eco, consisting of recycled polyester and organic cotton. The jury raved about the outstanding design combining modern lines with traditional elements. It has the potential to become a new all-time classic. In combination with the functional features, Fjällräven created a garment which will please the user in outdoor environments as well as in urban settings.

SPECIFIC FEATURES
The Greenland Half Century jacket is based on Fjällräven’s very first jacket. The fit has been optimised with modern pattern making and the jacket is kept light and smooth thanks to taped seems. The low profile of the seams provides excellent comfort when worn with a backpack. This jacket is developed to last for generations.
SUSTAINABILITY
The Fjällräven design policy focuses on functional design with minimum impact, having timelessness and durability as focal points. The material choice is regulated with a preferred material list based on evaluating materials on its sustainability aspects.
