SUSTAINABILITY INFORMATION
Product Sustainability:
• Sustainable innovations
Abisko Friluft (like all new backpacks from Fjällräven for SS17) uses the Eco version of Fjällräven’s legendary outdoor material G-1000.
• Chemicals/Materials approach
Materials chosen for minimum environmental impact and to make the backpack last
for a long, long time. Abisko Friluft uses:
• Recycled polyester
• Organic cotton
• PFC-free impregnation
Main fabric is hardwearing G-1000 Eco in 65% recycled polyester and 35% organic cotton that is waxed with Greenland Wax (the impregnation used for all of Fjällräven’s G-1000 products) for water and abrasion resistance. Greenland Wax has been produced since the late 1960s by the same Swedish family business. The recipe is secret but the ingredients are simple: pure paraffin and highquality beeswax. In addition to the wax making the product wind and water resistant, it also increases its durability and extends the life of the G-1000 fabric. The base of the backpack is made from waterproof 500D Nylon, chosen for its long lifetime and waterproof properties.
• End-of-use strategy
Fjällräven offers repair services on all of its equipment.
