Fjällräven’s iconic backpack is now re-invented for even higher sustainability. Fabric, webbing and logo are made from one single yarn of 11 recycled PET bottles. Spin-dyed to use less water, energy and chemicals.

An idea of using one single thread for the entire backpack, and webbing – even for the embroidered logo – to facilitate recycling and give the backpack a distinct monochrome look that sets it apart from the original.
Fjällräven’s vision is to become the most sustainable global outdoor brand. To make a real difference we need to find new materials, new production methods and have the courage to change best-selling products. So, we challenged ourselves to re-invent one of our icons; the Kånken backpack, to have as small ecological impact as possible.
