Haglöfs: Haglöfs’ sustainability efforts: Naturally developing business opportunities.
Published on January 29, 2009 | Tags: HaglöfsIt is perfectly natural for a company like Haglöfs to make active, long-term efforts toward sustainability in every area. As a leading technical outdoor brand, Haglöfs is dependent to a high degree on suppliers and cooperative partners that keep step with Haglöfs' ambitions., "We are continually taking measures that enable better control over our production processes," says Lennart Svensson, Director of Sustainability., Our work on sustainability covers the whole process from subcontractors, manufacturers, transport and Haglöfs' own internal business activities. Unacceptable events that require action can occur not only in the area of ethical production but also in environment, health and safety. Characteristic of Haglöfs sustainability efforts are the great demands the company places on every party involved., Our Code of conduct has far-reaching demands, and acceptance of the code is a pre-requisite for approval as a Haglöfs supplier. Haglöfs' membership in bluesign® was an initiative the company took to get to grips with environmental problems in the textile industry., Lennart Svensson has a well-founded background at Haglöfs, and for the past six months he has led Haglöfs’ efforts in raising the sustainability bar several notches higher., "Our products have always been designed to have a very long life cycle, and this is one of our biggest contributions. It’s a very important factor in reducing negative environmental impact," says Lennart Svensson.
