From short trips on the ski slope to demanding mountain expeditions, Haglöfs’ three collections Frontcountry, Backcountry and Mountaineering provide every alpinist with the right stuff., WINTER SPORT AS A PHILOSOPHY., SKI OUR WAY is the philosophy behind Haglöfs’ winter sports products. Skiing is ever more multifaceted. In the past there were the classic downhill skier and the perennial ski hiker. But today the two sports have intertwined, and the culture of skiing has changed considerably. While the ski hiking fan is away on an all day outing avoiding the hullabaloo on the pistes, looking forward to a perfect descent in deep snow after a long ascent, others are making more use of the lift to access the Frontcountry area, to experience the same pleasure. Above the tree line lies a vastness of mountain ranges where only adventurous alpinists dare to tread. From its own experience, Haglöfs has developed perfectly-tailored garments for each area of use, well thought through in the smallest detail., FRONTCOUNTRY – SHORT SKI TOURS ACCESSED FROM THE LIFTS., In their search for fresh powder lines and wide open terrain, Frontcountry skiers go that little bit extra and make the strenuous hikes necessary to get to the good stuff away from the lifts and the crowds., Haglöfs Frontcountry jackets and pants go that little bit extra too and provide better warmth, durability, and powder features to withstand gnarly descents and sustained cold environments. The collar and inside of the new Gully Jacket are largely fleece lined and provide comfortable warmth. The outer fabric in 3-layer Gore-Tex® Soft Shell provides proven, unsurpassed protection against the wind and wet. Underarm zips take care of variable perspiration ventilation. Small, barelynoticeable details offer a high level of comfort. Hood, side panels and underarms are lined in comfortable flannel, and a perfect fit is made possible by pre-formed sleeves. Haglöfs’ new, high-quality Guard Pant in 3-layer Gore-Tex® Pro Shell provides the sportsman great winter sports style and the best protection. It is completely windproof, waterproof, breathable and, thanks to reinforcements in the seat, upper thighs, knees and leg hems, this is a very durable pant. the shoulder straps are removable, and hip length taped-seam ventilation zips allow cooling in warmer temperatures or strenuous ascents. Pre-formed knees, leg, hems strengthened with Schoeller® Keprotech®, and integrated, adjustable gaiters highlight Haglöfs’ uncompromising zeal to fulfil quality requirements down to the smallest detail. For the first time Guard Pant is offered in three different colours: Bronze Green, Blue Moon, Black and comes in three lengths., BACKCOUNTRY – SKI TOURING IN NATURAL AREAS., Hikers need highly functional clothing for expeditions into the Backcountry. Light equipment is essential for all-day non-stop activity, but not at the price of compromised function. Also, outdoor men and, women must be able to handle various weather conditions, and during the season these can vary from a crackling cold January day, to a spring ski tour with almost summer-like temperatures. So clothing, must be flexible and have all-round capabilities. Haglöfs insists first and foremost on quality in all its products. Only materials from prominent manufacturers such as Gore-Tex® and Polartec® are used. Thus are world-class Haglöfs garments born, with the flawless function that will bring many years of outdoor pleasure., MOUNTAINEERING – A MULTIPLE OF ALPINE ACTIVITIES ABOVE THE TREE LINE., Haglöfs provides products for the serious mountain climber. This is the most difficult of alpine disciplines places maximum demands on clothing. Not only rock and ice climbers but also mountaineers must be able to depend on their equipment one hundred per cent during the winter. Toughness, lightness, warmth and breathability are but a few of the demands that must be met., ”SKI OUR WAY” is Swedish outdoor specialist Haglöfs’ enthusiastic winter sport slogan. Technical product specification has once again been optimized for the Fall/Winter 2009/2010 season, and further adapted to suit the needs of individual target groups. In order to fulfil a mountaineer’s every need, the new collection has been tailored for three areas of activity – Backcountry, Frontcountry and Mountaineering. Two attractive lines for the self-confident, versatile sportswoman are the successful Spitz Q Jacket and the new Guard Q Pant., Enjoying ice, rock and snow to the limits requires the help of functional clothing on every adventure. It must also provide protection, warmth and freedom of movement under extreme conditions such as wind, cold and snowfall. It must quite simply be clothing which an alpinist not only feels comfortable in, but also can rely on in every situation. The completely windproof, waterproof, yet breathable, Haglöfs Spitz Q Jacket meets these requirements. After two successful years on the market, this highlytechnical, light and very robust ladies’ jacket in 3-layer Gore-Tex® Pro Shell will be available next winter in a new stylish combination of Ice Blue/Arctic Blue, Black and Fire/Deep Red, all with zips in contrasting colours. The jacket has a compelling, sharp, fashionable design, a feminine fit and is of the highest quality. Haglofs’ new, high-quality Guard Q Pant in 3-layer Gore-Tex® Pro Shell provides the sportswoman great winter sports style and the best protection. The shoulder straps are removable, and hip length taped-seam ventilation zips allow ventilation in warmer temperatures or strenuous ascents. So the Spitz Q jacket is equally useful in the Backcountry areas as it is for Mountaineering. The SKI OUR WAY philosophy always embodies versatility and outstanding Haglöfs’ quality., Everything new footwear should be. This was something Haglöfs had in mind when we launched our new footwear line in 2008. This year we have added new models, such as Vertigo HI GT and Crag HI Q GT, both equally suited for mountain hiking and via Ferrata., In 2008 Haglöfs’ began cooperating with a select few German retailers who sold parts of the line, before the company took the final step in 2009 of launching its footwear on the European market. Haglöfs’ footwear program was very well received., A FIRM FOOTING IN DIFFICULT TERRAIN, Four new models will complete the extensive line this year. Included is Vertigo HI (Q) GT, available for both men and women, and primarily for user in alpine terrain. The ankle-high boot is eminently suited for hiking and climbing on demanding trails. The Nubuk leather uppers not only look refined, but are also robust and ensure a comfortable fit. The star-shaped design of the uppers allows the shoe to flex comfortably on the move. In combination with GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort, the shoe is waterproof and breathable. The outer sole was developed by Haglöfs in cooperation with HYPERGRIP®. The sole pattern guarantees a firm footing in loose terrain, while the stabilized area around the toes ensures a firm grip when climbing rocky trails. A secure footing is a must during a demanding climb. The PU heel cup absorbs shocks every step of the way, reducing knee and back strain., A FEAST FOR THE EYES AND A TREAT FOR THE FEET, Mountaineering women will love the Woman Crag HI Q GT. Women looking for an ankle boot suitable for light hiking and climbing in alpine terrain, will be thrilled with this model. Here too, a toe and sole especially designed for climbing ensure a firm footing on rocks. The outer material is for the most part quick-drying Polyamide fabric, and GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort prevents water from penetrating the boot while allowing perspiration to wick away. This characteristic ensures a comfortable foot climate. Long shoe laces make an ideal individual fit possible. The Crag HI Q GT, also available in men’s models, excellently achieves an interplay between stability and minimal weight. Not only does the boot feel exceptionally light on the feet, it also looks good. The colour Mellow Red makes it an especially attractive hiking companion., SOLE - MEETING EVERY CHALLENGE, A special something extra in Haglöfs’ footwear is an adaptable insole from the manufacturer SOLE. The insole is heat mouldable and adapts to the individual. By first warming the sole in an oven it adapts to the foot during wear. Even without preliminary warming, the insole comfortably adapts to the foot after just a few days
