"2008 was a fantastic year for us at Haglöfs and the beginning of 2009 looks even better. We began the New Year with 20 per cent more order entries than last year," says Haglöfs' CEO Mats Hedblom., "Every market showed strong growth, especially in the Nordic countries, Germany, Japan and Switzerland," says Mats Hedblom., Haglöfs gained a significant, prestigious order from Switzerland in 2008. The company will supply clothing to the Swiss Alpine Rescue Team, an organization of some 2,500 people that works with everything from preventive mountain safety to emergency rescue missions in extremely tough conditions. The order was won in fierce competition with several other suppliers., "We have put a lot of effort into developing our organization over the past year," says Mats Hedblom. "The recruitment of a Logistics Manager will provide us even better flow throughout the entire production chain, while the appointment of a Director of Sustainability will create new opportunities in our ongoing efforts to develop environmental and ethics matters within Haglöfs.", "We have built up a completely new organization in Great Britain over the past year. This big, important market is now under the leadership of the new Country Manager Neil Bradley in a sales office located in the Lake District.", "Our strong 2008 provides us with a firm footing and great confidence for the future," Mats Hedblom tells us. "We have extremely well-defined collections, something we know the market appreciates. Our new Senior Designer, Roddy Darcy, together with our design team, have presented several exciting new products. We look forward to 2009 and the years ahead with great optimism.”
